North Chailey refurb job

Finished kitchen/diner with new wooden floor laid.
Original kitchen and wall between kitchen and diner.

In October I completed a job in North Chailey for a lovely couple called Mike and Dianne, the brief was to open up the kitchen and the dining room by removing the party wall. The party wall turned out to be a load bearing wall so we inserted an RSJ to support the upper floor. Around a 3rd of the kitchen units had to be removed and re-intergrated back into the existing kitchen ie move the oven and re position the hob into the remaining worktop. The original kitchen door was blocked up as the entrance is now thru the dining area. The idea was to provide a light open space so the whole family could be sat around the dining table at Christmas, I think you can see from the before and after shots that this was definately achieved.

Just been back for a return visit to this job to lay oak wooden flooring thru-out most of the downstairs. Really finished off the job nicely, it ran thru the new opening between the kitchen and dining room and into the hallway.

  1. Our building project was carried out with the minimum of fuss and disruption. Barny was reliable and courteous, worked to a good standard, and with his contacts with other trades, effectively project managed the job so it was finished in good time. I therefore have no hesitation in highly recommending him.
