Complete rufurbishment of 4 storey house in Hove , including loft conversion

The client wanted this victorian house in Poets Corner to be completeley refurbished top to bottom and have a loft conversion too.
We stripped out everything- kitchens/bathrooms carpet etc.
Alot of the original rooms were refigured to create new spaces for extra rooms and bathrooms.
The entire basement was gutted and all load bearing walls removed to make a beautiful spacious open-plan kitchen/dining area.
All walls and ceilings were plastered to ensure a good smooth finish everywhere.
New electrics were installed and the plumbing was updated.

On completeion the house had 3 new bathrooms (1 being an en-suite in the loft), and a new kitchen in the basement.

Soundproofing party wall job in Hove

 The client had problems with noise polution from their neighbours , you could literally hear them plugging things in and their answer machine switching on very clearly.
We used a new product which is a self adhesive membrane sandwiched between 2 different sorts of plasterboard hung on a metal frame system.
The outcome was very effective and the client can bearly hear his neighbours now.

be-spoke DJ mixing desk

 The client had limited space in his house so he asked me to design and build a unit that could fit in the corner and allow him to have full access to all his mixing gear, and storage underneath for vinyl.

Bathroom refurb in Hove

The clients had an airing cupboard in the bathroom and wanted that removed, providing space for a roll top bath and completely new bathroom suite.
We also fitted a new window, new tiles thru-out , and tiled the kitchen floor .

Metal frame ceiling & stud- Ice cream parlour , Crawley

The clients are opening a new ice cream parlour in Broadfileld Barton, Crawley, and asked us to put up a metal frame ceiling with a 5m square bulk head dropped down over the would be counter area for lights etc, also metal stud partitions so there can be a kitchen and seperate lounge area out back.

Kids nursery conversion - Rusper,West Sussex

The client needed to relocate the Nursery , so my team has been working on this project to get it ready by october.
The building was pretty much empty inside so we have split it up into 8 areas constructed of a metal frame with insulation and plasterboard.


The outside area needed fencing all the way around to keep the little ones from escaping.

We are also constructing decking areas with cover ,on both sides of the building so that they can enjoy being outside without getting rained on.

Bespoke wardrobes and bookcase in Hove

The client wanted 2 wardrobes either side of the chimney breast in the alcoves in their master bedroom, these were finished off on the exterior with a Farrow & Ball slipper satin colour and a white satin interior, which really set them off nicely, they have 3 drawers in each wardrobe.The doors were finished off with a panel effect mitred at the corners.
On the top floor they wanted matching wardrobes either side of the dormer under the slopes of the roof, with one side having a continuation into a full height bookcase.

The whole building was wonky (pre1900) so was certainly a challenge, but well worth it in the end.

bespoke furniture - half height wardrobe

The client Claire, who lives in 1st Avenue Hove ,had a bay window in her bedroom and the only space for a wardrobe was in the bay, obviously a full height one would have blocked all the daylight, so she asked me if I could make her one to spec, so she can hang all her clothes up and still see outside.

Claire asked for it to be finished in a pale grey with white details so it would blend in with her currrent colour scheme. I finished it off with a sheet of bevelled glass on top to stop it scratching as she wanted to keep jewelery and perfume on the top. There is a hanging rail inside and hooks on the door for scarves/belts etc.

Bebuilt completely gutted and redesigned my bathroom. I liked Barnaby from the outset because he listened to what I wanted. He understood why I wanted the job doing to a certain specification and helped with recommending the new suite at a price that worked for my budget. He project managed well using other contractors as needed. During the work I felt completely comfortable with talking through elements I wanted to tweak and if I expressed concern Barnaby made sure that it was taken care of.
